We have gone through the BPI-Building Analyst Pathway to improve the foundation to the trade. We believe that basic building science literacy is important to more than just technicians. All of our office personal has taken the Home Performance Advocate course to give them a foot up in customer service, communication, support, and project management. We recommend anyone in a field related to a building-based trade to take this course and kickstart their journey with the proper language and literacy.

In this course, we want to give anyone old or new to the trade a fresh look at the building science basics alongside the necessary skills to communicate their importance to anyone. Whether you are in the field, office, or another related role for Home Performance, we want you to solidify the foundations of the industry and advocate for this vital trade.
Home Performance Advocate
Earn a Blue Sky Certificate for Home performance and prepare for the Building Science Principles (BSP) Certificate. This is your first step into the world of energy efficient home performance. You will learn some of the widely-used industry terminology related to building science. Building science demonstrates how various components of a home interact to affect the home’s overall performance.
Building Analyst - Technician
The BPI-Building Analyst Technician certification is an early-career credential for workers in the home performance industry. This certification gives a great entrance to the industry while providing a clear path for professional growth. Being a technician includes both knowledge and in-field application. Passing this certification includes a field exam that tests on knowledge regarding data collection and building science.
Building Analyst Professional
The BPI Building Analyst Professional (BA-P) is an advanced certification for home performance professionals. A BA-P is a certified Technician who also conducts energy modeling, building analysis, and data evaluation in order to provide a comprehensive report with a list of prioritized home performance recommendations. Obtaining this certification includes a proctored, online test covering all previous topics as well.
Partnership Courses
Heat Pump 101
Based on our in person Heat Pump 101 training, this course captures some core concepts and skills for understanding heat pumps. We are honored to say this course is a DOE energy skilled course and is continually being improved with new information.
Field Enablement Courses
These specialized courses are designed by our team based on field experience. They will help cover gaps in knowledge and prepare any professional in applicable ways. These courses count for continuing education credits (CEUs) through BPI.
Indoor Air Quality
Our Indoor Air Quality courses will cover the Identification, assessment, and Quality control of air within buildings. Split into three CEU courses, this group of trainings will give you in-depth information and resources for improving the indoor air quality of your own buildings or those of your clients.
